Stay Safe Stay at Home activities

Thanks to a grant from Safe at home MB.ca, the Herman Prior Activity centre can provide Activity kits to members. Members can also sign out kits for others in the community with the understanding that any items that can be re-used are returned so that others can use them as well.

Escape room challenges will also be available. We plan on having 3 different challenges with 6 sets of each so you can challenge other households for the fastest time and ingenuity.

Some of the Activity sets are also meant as challenges with other households, some of the “Challenge and Create with your Grandkids” ones, like who can built the tallest tower, the strongest bridge, and other engineering/science based activities.

Other categories, wire & metal, Popsicle sticks and Clothespins, nature crafts, repurposing old sweaters and jeans, string and fiber, environmentally friendly projects, recycling projects, use your imagination surprise kits.

We hope you have fun with them.

They are free to borrow with a member signing them out, donations gladly accepted so that we can restock items that are not returnable.

Also if you have craft supplies that you are not using, and or elastics, buttons, old sweaters, old jeans, old playing cards (do not have to be full sets), dominoes, metal washers, nuts and bolts, string, scrap material, yarn, corks, wire, paint, brushes…..we will continue to come up with bags for you to enjoy.

We hope to have some of these ready by January 6th, 2021. Our elves are busy working.

In the meantime check out https://www.pinterest.ca/whyjet/activity-kits/ and the categories and links there. Maybe you already have what you need to make these now, during the holiday season.

Stay safe. See you back at the Centre hopefully soon, fingers crossed. In the meanwhile enjoy.
